WCA exceeds the national average on yearly achievement testing and our high school students exceed state and national averages on the ACT (American College Test) which is administered annually to over 1 million college bound students. WCA’ s college prep program prepares students to succeed in college. Our alumni are accepted into major universities across the United States. The Academy provides parents and students with college admission and scholarship guidance.
High school students enjoy advanced and AP classes. Multiple college credits can be earned on-site and on-line through accredited dual enrollment options. Students can also earn college credits through the College Board CLEP program.
WCA uses Sycamore, a school wide system that allows parents internet access to grades, assignments, news, and schedules 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our SchoolCast rapid notification system allows the Academy to communicate with all parents instantly. This system is excellent for emergencies or general reminders.
Our technology initiatives are never just about technology, but rather about how to teach students in ways that engage and challenge them while promoting depth in their learning. In big and small ways, technology is actually transforming the teaching and the learning at WCA. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, iPads, Hovercams, and much more!
The preschool program offers a well-rounded, academic experience that goes beyond the basics of ABCs and 123s. In addition to foundational subjects, children engage in Bible classes, art, music, Spanish, engineering, and STEM, providing them with a broad range of learning opportunities. This comprehensive approach helps give children a strong academic boost as they transition into elementary school, preparing them for future success.
Students in our elementary school go beyond the basics through activities such as accelerated reader, computer classes, choirs, bands, private music lessons, art instruction, physical education, Spanish, and media skills. The Elementary National Honor Society, Art Club, STEM Club, and Music Club provide opportunities for extra achievement and community service Our intramural sports leagues (soccer, basketball, volleyball) and cheerleading clinics create athletic excitement.
WCA offers high school students many opportunities for leadership and involvement outside of the classroom. Students can take advantage of a full athletic program for men and women, a nationally recognized fine arts program, and multiple service opportunities through clubs, Honor Society, Student Council and GOAL programs.
